If you slow down the noise in your head, you can hear your souls whispers.

Founded in the 1940s by Laura and Fritz Perls, Gestalt therapy is a form of therapy that has its roots in humanistic psychotherapy.

It looks at the human life in its entity. It's not just the past that defines you or your family history or childhood. More important is how these situations affect us now and how they might hinder us on our path to living our truest self.

Throughout our lives and experiences, parts of ourselves can be cut off, locked away and neglected. This can manifest itself in later years as reactions that might seem completely exaggerated from the outside but still are very real for the person experiencing them. Enormous fear, anger or sadness are only some examples.

Usually, the person experiencing these emotions feels completely overwhelmed by them and has no possibility to react calmly in the given situation, spiralling down in reactions that have their roots in the past.
The parts, ‘Gestalten’ (shadowy schemes) once served the purpose to protect us, whereas now they can block us from living our life to our fullest.

During our sessions we look at those parts of you. I will support you on your way to slowly, at your own pace, look at and maybe even integrate these abandoned parts.

Results of Gestalt therapy can be:

  • increased acceptance of yourself in all your weird and wonderful personality

  • loving yourself more

  • more intimacy and connection in (romantic) relationships

  • feeling more grounded and stable

  • being less fearful

  • more trust in yourself

  • understanding and maybe changing old patterns

  • … and much more!

I believe in the power of combining the wisdom of our body and the language ability of our brain. Words might not always be enough to communicate how we feel. But our body language and tone of voice hardly ever fails to express what is going on at this moment. After years of struggling with the typical sitting-and-talking approach in therapy I thus created a different approach: combining ‘classical’ therapy with body work such as yoga, breathwork and chanting.
